Although production had been repeatedly postponed, recent announcements show great strides have been taken toward initial production with Tesla Gigafactory Texas having completed building their initial lines as documented during their Q1 earnings call this year.
Reservation tracking systems indicate that Tesla's truck has received almost 1.5 million pre-orders since pre-production has started, according to reports by Electrek. Production should start soon enough as Tesla has started communicating with suppliers regarding annual output plans and production scheduling, according to these sources.
Tesla has named their Cybertruck program Project Everest and have already requested suppliers produce 375,000 Cybertrucks annually.
