According to reports, Tesla recently instructed its suppliers to be ready for Cybertruck production, planning on producing 375,000 units annually of this all-electric pick-up vehicle.

Tesla first unveiled their Cybertruck back in November 2019. Although production had been repeatedly postponed, recent announcements show great strides have been taken toward initial production with Tesla Gigafactory Texas having completed building their initial lines as documented during their Q1 earnings call this year.

Reservation tracking systems indicate that Tesla's truck has received almost 1.5 million pre-orders since pre-production has started, according to reports by Electrek. Production should start soon enough as Tesla has started communicating with suppliers regarding annual output plans and production scheduling, according to these sources.

Tesla has named their Cybertruck program Project Everest and have already requested suppliers produce 375,000 Cybertrucks annually.

At an initial production run of 10,000 trucks, this is an impressive figure. Elon Musk has stated numerous times in the past that the Cybertruck was one of the more challenging vehicles to design and engineer.

According to reports, Tesla plans on having the first release candidates of their Cybertruck available by August. Unfortunately, no official details about first deliveries have been disclosed as they only mentioned pricing and other details at an event in the third quarter.

Tesla's initial production prototypes unveiled between 2019 and later have been updated with features unique to Cybertrucks, including a yoke-style steering wheel. At Investor Day earlier this year, these vehicles were on display.

Tesla recently unveiled the Cybertruck design. This indicates production may start soon - an assertion confirmed by both Musk and Franz von Holzhausen, Chief Vehicle Designer at Tesla.
